Library

Keep the PDFs you read in one library folder, with cover thumbnails and your place in every book.

Shelves

Organize books into shelves without moving or copying a single file, and put a book on as many shelves as you like.

Reader

Read in continuous, single-page or two-page layouts. ReadMachine remembers the page, scroll position and zoom for every book.

Reading coverage

Progress means pages you have read, not the last page you opened, so jumping to the end never counts as finished.

Highlights and notes

Add bookmarks, highlights, underlines, strikethroughs and notes, and find them again from the sidebar.

Document map

A slim map beside the page shows what you have read, where your bookmarks and highlights are, and lets you jump anywhere.

Local-first

Everything stays on your Mac. No account, no uploads, no tracking, and your PDFs are never modified.

Supported formats

PDF today, with more formats planned.
